Digital Image Processing Lab

The University of Central Florida's Digital Image Processing Lab

exists in order to explore leading edge technology in digital media systems and applications with extensive support from corporate partners, and to provide the faculty, staff, students, and visitors from other institutions and industry with access to these technologies in order to conduct research, training, and professional development.

These opportunities are provided through industry partnerships, credit courses, faculty/staff development activities, and enhanced University research capabilities.

DIPL coordinates a true University/Industry Partnership with UCF and Kodak. UCF provides the facilities that are strategically located in the Central Florida Research Park containing a conference room, a mediated classroom, a technology demonstration room and has a 100 base T external network. Kodak and other partners provide UCF with leading-edge equipment in digital technology.

The corporate partnership enhances academic support by providing students access to the latest advances in digital media. It provides faculty development through partnership sponsored workshops and bolsters research through industry matching for NSF and NIH grants. The goals of the UCF/Kodak partnership will allow UCF to become a showcase for Digital Imaging Technologies regionally as well as for the State of Florida.
