Engineering

Engineering at OIR provides long-range technology facilities and systems planning. This area is also responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic and audiovisual equipment.

Our Engineering department is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of instructional production and delivery systems. We also maintain the multimedia classrooms and the satellite TV facilities used campus wide.

Engineering maintains and operates the two-way interactive compressed video facilities linking UCF Main Campus with UCF branch campuses and other distance learning sites.

Technical support for videoconferencing is also provided.

Repair services are provided primarily for the Office of Instructional Resources. Repair of equipment for other UCF departments is on a priority basis. Our repair service includes:

• Film Projectors

• VCRs

• Television Monitors

• Slide Projectors

• Audio Tape Recorders

In support of faculty and administration at UCF, Engineering also provides consultation services to departments on equipment purchases and installations, and requirements for appropriate facilities, technology and support. When appropriate, we coordinate resources including contacting qualified vendors or rental equipment.
